about

Spilling Audio #18, originally released on glorious cassette tape in 1992.

"A product of Spilling Audio in Seattle, this is an often pleasing collection of rock and grunge. Several standout tracks on side 1 somehow remind me of the early 60's TV theme songs, ala "Peter Gunn." Particularly satisfying is "Car Wreck," in which Eric's guitar takes on the persona of braying car horns smashed together in the Holland Tunnel. If anything is happening lyrically here though it's buried from public view. Side two offers up more of the same, including two interesting (but, alas, unnamed) collabs with The Screamin Popeyes. Though some of the material is weak, you'll like the overall big city ambience." -- Gary Likert / Gajoob
