about

Using a Stratocaster and a Les Paul plugged into a '68 Fender Dual Showman, I spent an evening recording hundreds of short guitar phrases through several different effect pedals. Playing single notes, chords and melodic lines as well as various noises and scrapes. Most of these little bits of audio don't last more than a few seconds, and rarely do you hear more than 2 guitars at once. The idea was to see how many different sounds and textures I could create in a short period of time, and piece them together into something unique and, hopefully, interesting. Afterwards I randomly inserted the clips along the timeline of my recording setup to create this 8 minute abstract guitar collage.
