Joey Lupin - A Brief History Of Percussion

from DRUM - a percussive compilation by various artists

/

about

Conceived by Joe Sokolinsky with help from his sister, Jackie Goldmyn, and his mother, Myrna Sokolinsky (she does the singing). The instruments used were bottles, glasses filled with varying amounts of water, Quaker Oats containers, human body parts, cans, bowls, dead animals (just kiddin'), and the back of an acoustic guitar. The inspiration for this 'conceptual' piece came about one night when Joe was wrecked out of his mind on Flintstone Multivitamins. Recorded on a Yamaha MT100 4-track in the dungeon basement of the Fungus Fire Laboratory (pronounced le-bore-atoree).
