While visiting India, I traveled between Delhi and Agra and shot several photos and video footage, much of it from the train and the back of a taxi. Some at the Taj Mahal. Everywhere, people zoomed along on motorbikes and bicycles. This inspired me to write and record this piece of music to serve as the soundtrack for the images.
I improvised a string melody I thought would compliment both a sitar and the sounds of Indonesian gamelan. I enjoy the blend of Indian and Indonesian instruments, and with the addition of Western influences, this piece unfolded perfectly as it was being recorded.
